Authorities announced on Wednesday that a man and a woman from Downey had been arrested in connection with the recovery of merchandise valued at $9.5 million that had been pilfered from big box retailers throughout Southern California.
The apprehension of Manuel Alfredo Revolorio and Alondra Ramirez Cruz occurred on November 21, when agents of the Southern Division Theft Interdiction Program (CTIP) of the California Highway Patrol executed numerous search warrants across various sites in Los Angeles County. These individuals were both linked to an organized cargo theft ring.
Shoes, apparel, electronics, perishables, and additional items pilfered from over a dozen unidentified big box retailers in the vicinity were retrieved by the authorities.A CHP news release stated, “At this time, it is estimated that over $9.5 million in stolen merchandise was recovered; however, victim companies are still in the process of calculating their total losses.”
A homeowner in Los Angeles who killed armed criminals has had his concealed carry permit revoked.
Additionally, one of the suspects, Revolorio, is linked to a CTIP investigation that was initiated in February of this year and yielded stolen property worth over $9 million, according to the authorities.
Cruz and Revolorio are each charged with conspiracy, grand larceny, and cargo theft.
