On Monday, a visitor to Disneyland in Anaheim, California was injured and had to be taken to the hospital due to an accident that occurred inside the theme park.
As per the latest update by CNN, Disneyland Park experienced an unfortunate incident on November 20th when a light pole collapsed on the crowd, causing injuries to three individuals. One of them is reportedly suffering from severe injuries.
At 8:30 a.m. PT, just half an hour after Disneyland opened its gates for the day, an unexpected incident took place. A light pole toppled over in the Main Street, U.S.A. section of the park, prompting the arrival of Anaheim Fire and Rescue officials. One of the parkgoers was more severely injured and had to be transported to a local hospital, while the others sustained minor injuries.
According to Sergeant Jon McClintock of the Santa Ana Police Department, the news outlet was informed that the two other individuals involved in the accident sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene before being released.
The injuries sustained by each party have not been specified yet.
Officials speculate that the light pole may have toppled due to the strong winds in the area, as suggested by McClintock. The National Weather Service had issued a wind advisory for parts of Orange County, where the park is situated, early Monday morning.
National Weather Service has issued a warning that the wind speeds may range from 30 to 40 miles per hour, accompanied by gusts as high as 65 miles per hour. Disneyland employees were observed guiding park guests away from the accident site while work was being carried out. The area was closed off to visitors for the majority of the morning as the workers repaired the fallen post.
