Remembering Devin Edward Wesch, 19, of Selden, After Fatal Crash

Devin Edward Wesch, a 19-year-old resident of Selden, tragically lost his life after losing control of his motorcycle in East Quogue on Monday, April 29.

Around 4 p.m. that day, Wesch was driving on Montauk Highway near Shinnecock Avenue when he crossed the roadway and collided with a pole.

Just days after the incident, his friends and the local community came together to honor the young man’s memory and support his family in their time of hardship.

Zachary Beresid, who established a GoFundMe campaign to help with the expenses of the funeral, expressed that the person in question had an incredible ability to bring joy and happiness to numerous individuals.

“He had a way of lighting up any room he entered,” he continued. “His memory will always be cherished and never forgotten.”

Others who were acquainted with Devin also expressed the same sentiment.

Devin’s passing was announced in a heartfelt post by Suffolk AME. The organization, for which he worked as a wastewater treatment plant helper, fondly remembered him as an extraordinary individual with a contagious smile and a vibrant spirit.

On Facebook, Lidia Sinisi, a friend and former colleague, shared an inspiring story that showcases Devin’s remarkable kindness.

“During my darkest moments, Devin was my pillar of support, a reliable presence by my side when I felt like my entire world was crumbling,” she expressed.

Devin will always be remembered and cherished.

Within a few days, an impressive number of generous individuals have made donations exceeding $24,000, surpassing the initial GoFundMe goal of $10,000 and showing no signs of slowing down.

Devin’s services will be held on Friday, May 3 at Giove Funeral Home in Selden, situated at 1000 Middle Country Road. Visitation is set to commence at 2 p.m. and will last for two hours, followed by the service starting at 7 p.m.
