Hall County Government confirms presence of rabid fox in Gainesville

The government of Hall County has recently reported the discovery of a rabid fox in Gainesville.

Officials have reported that the fox was confirmed to have rabies after it was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur on Tuesday.

According to officials, there has been recent contact with the rabid fox in the 900 block of Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville.

Hall County Animal Services wants to remind pet owners that they can now get vaccines for their pets at the Hall County Animal Shelter on Barber Road from Tuesday to Friday. The cost of the vaccines is only $10.

The county will also place signs in nearby locations where the fox was discovered. If residents notice any unusual behavior from animals in the area, they are encouraged to contact Animal Services at 770-531-6830.
