Fatal collision in Santa Rosa County claims life of 82-year-old woman from Alabama

A tragic accident occurred in Santa Rosa County where an 82-year-old woman from Alabama lost her life.

The Florida Highway Patrol is a law enforcement agency that operates throughout the state of Florida.

On Monday, a tragic accident occurred in Santa Rosa County, claiming the life of an 82-year-old woman from Alabama.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on State Road 87, which is located half a mile south of the Alabama state line.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a woman from Castleberry, Alabama was driving out of the Sanhandle Lotto store’s parking lot onto State Road 87 in her car. At the same time, a 61-year-old man from Milton was heading southbound on State Road 87 in a tractor-trailer.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the tractor-trailer collided with her vehicle as she failed to notice it and entered the roadway. The impact occurred at the left side of her vehicle, causing it to spin counterclockwise and end up on the grass shoulder.

Although the woman was declared deceased, the Milton man emerged from the incident unscathed.
