Woman receives sentence for killing man in Mississippi in 2022

A man lost his life in Mississippi in 2022, and recently, a woman has pled guilty in connection to his death in Jefferson Davis County.

The shooting death of Carson Sistrunk has resulted in a guilty plea from Sierra Jane Inscoe, a 22-year-old resident of Prentiss. Hal Kittrell, the 15th Circuit Court District Attorney, made the announcement that Inscoe has been charged with murder.

According to officials, Gulf Camp Road was the location where Sistrunk’s body was discovered on September 7, 2022. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office reported the 24-year-old missing a few days prior to this tragic discovery.

As per a post on social media by a family member, Sistrunk had arranged to meet a woman with whom he had been communicating online.

According to the investigator, Inscoe was found driving Sistrunk’s vehicle in Jefferson Davis County.

Circuit Court Judge Richelle Lumpkin handed down a sentence of 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) for Inscoe after she pleaded guilty. However, 35 of those years must be served without the possibility of parole or early release.
