Malissa Shipman, a resident of Fayetteville, decided to test her luck by purchasing a $2 Mega Millions ticket. To her amazement, she emerged as the lucky winner of a staggering $1 million prize in the March 19 drawing.

Shipman purchased her $2 Mega Millions ticket online for the March 12 draw. She was ecstatic when she discovered that her ticket had matched all five white balls, securing her the $1 million prize.

Shipman made her way to lottery headquarters on March 15th to collect her prize. Once federal and state tax withholdings were deducted, she walked away with $715,001 in her pocket.
