Woman charged with severing head in fridge, victim ID’d

After human remains were found inside a refrigerator in a Brooklyn apartment, officials arrested Heather Stines, a resident of New York City.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), they discovered a deceased person inside an apartment on Nostrand Avenue on Monday. Following up on an anonymous tip, police searched the house and discovered several body parts, including a human head that was discovered inside a closed refrigerator.

A 45-year-old apartment occupant named Heather Stines has been taken into custody in relation to this unsettling finding. She is accused of hiding a dead person. The shut refrigerator has sparked suspicions, according to the NYPD, and the case is presently being looked into as a possible homicide.

Kawsheen Gelzer has been identified by investigators as the victim, according to an NBC report.

A neighbor living in the same building described Stines’ response to the New York Daily News. Germaine Roberts, Stines’ neighbor, revealed that Stines seemed upset, saying, “Oh my God, I’m going to jail.” Roberts claims that the authorities denied Stines entry to the flat.It’s still unclear as of right now if Stines has gotten legal counsel or made a plea. Her next court appearance is set for Tuesday, according to jail records.
