The explosion occurred in Arlington, Virginia, as the police were attempting to carry out a search warrant at a different residence. Even before the explosion, there were allegations that someone was firing a flare pistol from inside the house many times. The police were reacting to these claims.
In spite of repeated attempts to get in touch with them, the suspect holed themselves inside the house and did not offer any response. The perpetrator fired multiple bullets prior to the explosion, which occurred after the police had obtained a search warrant and approached the residence. As of right now, the health of the suspect is unknown, and three officers have sustained minor injuries. Investigations are still being conducted to determine what caused the explosion.
