Video: Jewelry Store Thief Arrested Thanks to Collaboration Between Howard County Police and Sheriff’s Office

Towards the end of May, a man reportedly wielded a knife at a mall situated in Columbia. Subsequently, he managed to steal two watches, but his escape was short-lived.

According to the police, the suspect threatened the employee before jumping over the counter, grabbing some items, and escaping on foot with a white bag.

On Tuesday, police released a video in which a BOLO (be on the lookout) was heard. A member of the sheriff’s office reported having seen the suspect at a nearby car wash, leading to a brief foot chase when he was located in the vicinity by a member of the Howard County Police Department.

The jewel thief was apprehended swiftly by the officer, who managed to recover both the watches and the knife used during the robbery without any complications.
