Two men involved in an alleged robbery attempt leave a teenager critically injured

On July 20 at around 1:30 a.m., gunshots were heard near 9th and Russell in South City, as reported by St. Louis City police. The incident involved a 16-year-old who allegedly tried to rob two men, resulting in the teenager being in critical condition at present.

As the sound of shots echoed through the area, an off-duty officer was quick to respond. Noticing a white SUV speeding away, the officer sprang into action, determined to catch the culprits. Shortly after, police received a call from two 24-year-old men who had relocated to another area for their own safety. The investigation continued as authorities worked to gather more information about the incident.

Four suspects wearing ski masks and dark clothing approached the two men who were sitting in their car, as reported to the officers.

As the victims were sitting in their car, they were suddenly approached by three individuals. One of the suspects proceeded to reach into the car to steal their belongings, while the other two stood behind with a rifle. In an attempt to open the passenger door, one of the suspects was shot by the passenger.

After leaving the hospital, the other suspects made a hasty exit, leaving behind the injured teenager. According to the police, a ski mask was found by them at the hospital.
