Texas Dad sentenced to ten years in prison for telling his wife she would’meet Jesus’ before shooting her dead on camera

A Texas father was sentenced to ten years in jail this week for fatally shooting his wife in the head while on camera after learning of her alleged affair.

Carey Birmingham, 60, informed his wife Patricia she was going to “meet Jesus” just before shooting her three times outside their Spring, Texas, home in December 2021.

The couple battled for around 30 minutes before he shot her after discovering she was apparently having an affair, according to ABC 13.

He said in a video that ABC 13 acquired, “I hope it was worth it.” “I’m done; I’m f-king done.”

Birmingham’s lawyer, Anthony Osso, stated that his client pleaded guilty immediately to an unusual all-female jury. Osso was attempting to persuade the panel that the husband had shot his wife in the heat of the moment.

“We never attempted to defend our client’s actions because the defense did not require justification. “It was about why he did what he did,” Osso told the local media.

However, their daughter Olivia does not believe the defense and is suspicious that her father’s crime was the consequence of “sudden passion.”

“You need to have something. You must have made that decision within yourself for a long time; I feel compelled to do something, to do that to someone you truly care about,” she told ABC 13.

“No matter what was said in this trial, you know what type of woman she was, and you know what you did and how he took away my favorite person in this world.”

Olivia, who was at school when her mother was shot, stated that she lost her father the same day her mother died.

“I lost both of my parents that day.” My father also died that day, because the person who committed this to my mother and father is not the same person,” she explained.

Olivia also accused her father of emotionally and financially abusing her, claiming she would never forgive him for his actions.

Birmingham will become eligible for parole in five years.
