Tennessee crews assisting in power restoration efforts in Texas following Hurricane Beryl

East Tennessee crews have been lending their support in Texas following the devastating Hurricane Beryl. The aftermath of the storm has seen volunteers from the region doing all they can to assist in the recovery efforts.

KUB, together with Service Electric, has been providing assistance in the Houston area to restore power.

Nathan Lunn of Service Electric commented that this Category one was possibly the most severe one he had encountered.

For several days now, Lunn has been in Texas lending a hand to local and national crews in clearing debris and restoring power to people’s homes.

Lunn expressed, “We take pleasure in being able to assist and contribute in any way we can during storms.” He emphasized that both his team and the other employees at the organization share the same sentiment.

According to Lunn, their current major obstacle is the debris and power lines that are impeding their progress.

According to him, the focus is on fixing the power grid’s backbone and main feeder lines for now. Once this task is completed, households can expect to get their power back.

As of now, Lunn and his team are working tirelessly to make the necessary repairs, while over a million homes in Texas remain without power.

According to Lunn, he and his colleagues from East Tennessee have estimated that they will remain in Texas for approximately one more week before heading back home.
