Mocobizscene- Jermard Lewis is attempting to prove his insanity in the face of allegations that he fatally stabbed Kroger employee Perla Nieto. Lewis’s lawyer, Marcia Linsky, filed a motion to have psychologists or psychiatrists assess Lewis’s capacity to stand trial.
Lewis is said to have told police that he attacked Nieto following an argument at the Waynedale Kroger earlier this month. Witness reports and surveillance footage attest to the stabbing’s occurrence. Lewis may spend up to 65 years in prison if found guilty. The next hearing is set for January 8.
