Sources say Gaetz’s deposition in civil defamation case postponed to June

Multiple sources have informed ABC News that the deposition of Rep. Matt Gaetz in a civil defamation case, filed by a long-time friend, has been rescheduled from April 5th to June.

Attorneys representing the woman involved in a long-running investigation into allegations of sexual relations between Gaetz and a minor have subpoenaed him in March, as reported by ABC News.

Gaetz’s former friend Joel Greenberg, along with others including Chris Dorworth, filed a defamation lawsuit against a woman and others involved in the Justice Department’s investigation. The investigation concluded without any charges being pressed against Gaetz.

Gaetz is not involved in the defamation lawsuit.

During the deposition, Gaetz may be questioned under oath regarding his involvement in sexual relations with the woman when she was a minor.
