Slight decrease observed in the average cost of a gallon of gas in Georgia from the previous week

AAA’s data shows that gas prices in Georgia have remained steady in the past week.

Georgians are currently spending $3.28 per gallon at the pump, which is one cent lower than last week’s price as of Monday.

The average cost for filling up a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline for drivers is $49.20.

According to Montrae Waters, a spokesperson for AAA, prices may increase in anticipation of the upcoming July 4 holiday, which is a popular time for travel.

According to AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman, Montrae Waiters, gas prices have been prevented from rising this week due to slack demand, rising supply, and low crude oil prices. However, she warns that this temporary reprieve may not last for long. With the 4th of July just around the corner, gas prices could potentially see an increase once again.

On Monday, the highest-priced Georgia metro areas include Savannah at $3.39, Atlanta at $3.31, and Hinesville-Fort Stewart at $3.30.

The Albany market boasts the least expensive gas prices at $3.18, closely followed by Dalton at $3.13, and the Catoosa-Dade-Walker market at $3.05.
