Shooting near Brooklyn playground injures woman in broad daylight

According to authorities, a woman who is 50 years old was shot and injured on Sunday afternoon, just across the street from a playground in Brooklyn.

According to sources, gunshots were heard around 2:30 p.m. near the playground of the Van Dyke public housing complex located at Dumont Ave. near Mother Gaston Blvd. in Brownsville. A woman was present at the scene during the incident.

The woman was transported to Brookdale University Hospital by medics and is anticipated to recover from her injuries. No arrests were made at the time.
