Sheriff in Essex County Conducts Sweep, Seizing Heroin, Cocaine, and Guns

According to Essex County Sheriff Armando B. Fontoura, the focus of the investigation was primarily on Hill Street, Washington Street, South 10th Street, and Clinton Avenue. As a result of their efforts, law enforcement officials were able to seize a total of four weapons, 39 grams of heroin, 828 grams of cocaine, and over 60 ecstasy pills.

Jermaine Hartwell, a resident of Edgewater Park, was arrested by the police, along with Stephen Heien from Flanders, Israel Hughee from Newark, Victor Liggins from Bloomfield, and Bruce Williams, also from Newark, according to Fontoura.

Five individuals are currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility while awaiting their arraignment, according to Fontoura.
