Mocobizscene – A young Alabama woman was reported missing over the weekend and sent her family a message saying she was being held hostage. She was found shot dead on the side of the road early Monday morning.
A person in Birmingham saw the body of 20-year-old Mahogany Jaquise Jackson and called 911, according to police. The mother of Jackson, Gail Maddox, then wrote on Facebook, “They killed my child.”
“The events of the last 24 hours have been terrible for our family.” Please allow my sister some time to deal with the death of her daughter. Loretta King Hicks, Maddox’s sister, wrote, “This is a lot to handle, and we are just trying to figure everything out.”
We only ask that you pray that the people who did this horrible thing are caught if you want to do anything.
Jackson wasn’t seen after she texted a family friend on Sunday morning. The police didn’t say much about the conversation, but Maddox wrote on Facebook that her daughter sent her a troubling message.
“This morning at 7:46 a.m., my daughter sent a message saying she was being held hostage and what her location was. She asked that you not call but quickly send the police,” she wrote.
“Someone who lives there hurt my daughter, and some other unidentified people won’t help me.”
Maddox told AL.com that she and police rushed to the address, where a woman stated Jackson had departed hours before.
When Jackson’s body was found, her cousin Brittany Maddox wrote on Facebook, “What hurts the most is that you called for help and no one got there in time.” Saying, “I’m sorry, cousin.”
