Run-walk event organized to support Laken Riley’s foundation: 22 for 22

On Friday night, the loved ones of Laken Riley will come together to organize a race in honor of the nursing student.

The 22 for 22 run and walk is scheduled to be held at River Ridge High School, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This event holds special significance as Riley, who was a part of the school’s track team, is remembered and honored.

Participants have the option to either run or walk a total of 22 laps, symbolizing each year of the nursing student’s life. The funds raised during the event will be dedicated to supporting the Laken Hope Foundation.

The foundation plans to donate the funds to organizations that prioritize women’s safety. Additionally, they will contribute to the scholarship established in Riley’s memory.

The event organizers emphasize that each step taken and every dollar raised will make a significant difference and bring about meaningful change.
