A U.S. Army veteran is set to receive recognition at the upcoming second annual Northwest Georgia We CARE Vet Fair, taking place on Thursday afternoon.
U.S. Army Major Sylvia James is set to receive a Quilt of Valor at the Forum River Center in Rome, as announced by United Military Care. The ceremony is scheduled for noon.
James has a commendable military background, having served in the U.S. Army from 1993 to 2005, fulfilling his duty both domestically and overseas.
During her time in active service, United Military Care stated that she was assigned to various locations including Fort Liberty in North Carolina, K-16 Army Airfield and Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea, Fort Lee in Virginia, Schofield Barracks in Hawaii, Fort Belvoir in Virginia, the Pentagon, and Fort Hood, Texas.
During her time in service, James was awarded several honors and accolades. These included the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal, the Armed Services Expedition Medal, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Identification Badge.
