Republican National Convention to proceed without security adjustments, with 58 Tennessee delegates in attendance

Fifty-eight delegates from Tennessee are currently attending the Republican National Convention, where former President Trump is a guest in Milwaukee. Law enforcement officials have deemed this political event as the most secure in the history of our nation.

The United States Secret Service has expressed confidence in the security plan that was in place prior to the recent attempted assassination, following 18 months of preparation. As a result, they have decided that no changes will be made. This decision has been met with approval from individuals such as Scott Golden, the Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party.

He confidently declared that nobody feels unsafe in this location. According to him, this place is going to be one of the safest in the entire United States.

According to Golden, he played a part in organizing some of the arrangements for this year’s event. The FBI has stated that, as of now, there are no known threats directed towards the RNC. However, they have reported an increase in online threats of violence since the recent attack that occurred on Saturday.

Wherever Golden goes, he notices a visible presence of security.

According to him, the RNC has arranged for a bus that will transport all the delegates to the Fiserv Center. Moreover, each delegate will be accompanied by a designated Secret Service agent during the commute.

According to a recent interview with Frank Figliuzzi, former assistant FBI director, there are currently 1,100 law enforcement officers operating in Milwaukee. This includes a team of over a dozen officers from both the Metro Nashville Police Department and La Vergne Police Department. WSMV4 reported on the interview last week.

According to Figliuzzi, a city like Milwaukee would require more resources than what’s currently available in the entire state of Wisconsin.

In an interview with WSMV4, he stated that RNC security will remain unchanged. Nonetheless, he expressed apprehension over Wisconsin’s open carry law, which prevents the city from imposing restrictions on firearms in Milwaukee.

Despite the attempted assassination, Golden remains optimistic about the turnout and expects a large attendance.

As per his statement, he mentioned that the number of people attending the event is increasing. He shared that some of them even called him last night and expressed their excitement about this historic election.

According to Golden, the cancellation of the Democratic National Convention, which was meant to be held in Milwaukee in 2020, had already led to the implementation of stringent security measures. He stated that they could extend and enhance these measures for this year’s RNC.
