Mocobizscene- A man is currently in critical condition following an attack in the parking lot of the Fairfield Shopping Center in Virginia Beach.
Just before 7 a.m., the police received a call. They had blocked off a section of the parking lot in front of the Food Lion. According to a colleague of the victim, the attack was completely random, as shared with 10 On Your Side’s KaMaria Braye.
WAVY obtained a video from a viewer capturing the emergency response. The footage depicts the suspect, who was seen wearing a bag over his head. Law enforcement authorities have verified that the bag is a “spit bag,” commonly employed when a detainee presents a risk of spitting at officers or bystanders. Shoppers were surprised upon learning about this attack, as the area is generally considered safe.
“It definitely affects me, as I have children and frequent the store often. Nobody wants to find themselves in a position where they have to defend themselves while simply trying to buy groceries. It’s quite alarming to hear about incidents like this,” remarked David Snead, expressing his concerns.
According to our sources, the Food Lion manager witnessed the attack.
