Three men were strolling on the 4700 block of North Broad Street when the incident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on May 11, according to authorities.
According to police, during an encounter with another group, a verbal altercation arose and quickly escalated. One of the men involved in the argument then took out a handgun and fired shots. Unfortunately, a woman who was located approximately one and a half blocks away from the scene was hit by the gunfire and sustained fatal injuries. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Video footage from the scene has been released by the police.
