Police detain man in connection with Staten Island double stabbing that resulted in one fatality and another injury.

On Monday, a stabbing incident on Staten Island left one person dead and another injured, with the police arresting and charging a man in connection to the crime.

37-year-old Carlos Rivera has been taken into custody on a number of charges, including second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon in the third and fourth degree, and tampering with physical evidence.

231 Broad Street in the Stapleton section was the location where the incident occurred.

The EMS team successfully put the victim in an ambulance, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he is expected to survive the injury and make a full recovery.

The cause of the attack remains unclear.

The authorities are currently conducting an investigation, which is still ongoing.
