Mocobizscene- Authorities in Long Island, New York, were attempting to identify the remains of a man and a woman that were discovered in a well-known suburban park.
Around twenty-five miles (40 kilometers) east of New York City, in Southards Pond Park, a girl on her way to school on Thursday morning discovered a severed limb by the side of the street. Later, another arm and leg were found nearby by police searchers. The Suffolk County Police Department stated that the body pieces seemed to belong to a male.
Authorities reported on Friday night that a search dog had also turned up what seemed to be a woman’s skull, arm, and portions of two legs. The remains didn’t seem to have been outside for very long, according to Kevin Beyrer, commanding officer of the Homicide Unit of the Suffolk County Police Department.
According to the situation, Beyrer told Newsday, “it looks it is a matter of a small amount of days, if not hours, that they were out here.”
According to him, arm tattoos were being used by detectives to try to identify the person. The park had been fully searched, according to the police.
