Pedestrian injured in Laurel early-morning collision

 Prince George’s County— A person was struck by a vehicle in Laurel, Maryland, in the early hours of Sunday.

The Laurel Police Department announced at 5:20 a.m. via X, formerly Twitter, that a pedestrian collision had caused the closure of the 7800 block of Contee Rd. at the Aventura at Contee Crossing Apartments.

The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment of their injuries; however, the specific condition of the victim was not disclosed by the department.

The vehicle’s operator remained at the location. Although Contee Road was reopened at 5:50 a.m., the entrance to the Aventura remained closed due to the ongoing investigation. It reopened at 6:30 a.m., according to the police.
