One individual taken to hospital following collision that resulted in complete closure of southbound lanes on I-85

There was a significant traffic disruption in Midtown Atlanta due to a crash on Interstate 85 southbound. All lanes were closed, resulting in major delays. However, the lanes have now been reopened, alleviating the traffic congestion.

According to Mike Shields from Triple Team Traffic, the crash took place in both the center lanes and the HOV lane.

According to a spokesperson from Atlanta Fire Rescue, fire crews were on the scene where an individual was trapped inside one of the cars.

AFRD successfully extricated the person from the car after carefully navigating through the debris. The individual was promptly transported to Grady Hospital for further assessment and medical treatment.

The crash before Exit 84 is currently blocking the lanes, causing significant traffic delays that stretch as far back as GA 400, according to Shields.

To avoid the congestion, Triple Team Traffic suggests utilizing alternative routes such as Peachtree Road, Piedmont Avenue, or the Buford Spring Connector.
