Off-duty officer among 5 injured in Indianapolis shooting that leaves 1 dead, police report

Early Sunday, law enforcement reported that a shooting outside a bar in Indianapolis resulted in the death of one individual and left five others injured, including an off-duty police officer.

During a press conference, the Indianapolis Metro Police stated that around 1:30 a.m., two off-duty officers, who were in uniform at the time, were at a bar when a disturbance occurred in the parking lot.

During the altercation, the suspect and the police engaged in a shootout, resulting in one of the officers being injured. Fortunately, the officer’s condition is stable, and he is currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital. Police officials have assured that he is expected to make a full recovery and will likely be discharged on Sunday.

Police said they found a firearm in the parking lot.
