NYPD shares image of woman killed in shooting near migrant shelter on Randall’s Island

The New York Police Department (NYPD) has recently shared a picture of the victim who lost his life in the shooting incident that took place on Monday at Randall’s Island. The NYPD hopes that this move will encourage individuals with any relevant information to come forward, assisting with the arrest of the perpetrator.

At around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, a man opened fire on a soccer field during an impromptu celebration, resulting in the shooting of Sandra Serrano, a 44-year-old victim who was hit in the face and back.

Serrano resided in a migrant shelter administered by the city, adjacent to where the shooting took place.

Although two additional adults were shot during the incident, they were fortunate enough to survive.

According to the police, the gunman’s motive for the shooting was his anger over being robbed of his necklace earlier in the evening.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered by Crime Stoppers.
