NYC Family Devastated After Robbers Stole Six Teacup Poodle Puppies ‘Everyone Wanted One For Christmas’

The theft of six adorable teacup poodle puppies from their owner’s Bronx apartment in the middle of the night has left the entire family devastated. The heartless act has crushed their spirits, especially since everyone was hoping to get one of these cute puppies as a Christmas gift this year.

On November 10th, Margarite Oquendo experienced a break-in at her apartment where two individuals wearing masks stole a spare set of house keys from her car console, which was parked just a few blocks away from Crotona Park. On Wednesday, Oquendo, 30, expressed his devastation to The Post, stating that the only thing that was taken were his dogs.

She added, “I have a feeling that I was being watched and perhaps followed on that day. It’s no secret that people are aware of my dogs since I post about them frequently on social media.”

The theft of the puppies has left the family devastated, according to the mother of two who also works as a flight attendant. The emotional support dog, Lucy, recently gave birth to the puppies, and the entire family is heartbroken by their sudden disappearance. She expressed how everyone was feeling devastated and concerned about the puppies’ well-being.

Lucy’s initial set of puppies were teacup poodles, her first litter of this breed that only grows up to 9 inches in height and weighs less than 6 pounds. According to Oquendo, the litter of small puppies consisting of two male pups named Bam Bam and Papi, and four female pups named La La Loopsy, Kiss Me, Cuddles, and Honey had already been assigned as Christmas presents for friends and family.

Lucy was a highly sought-after puppy and many people desired to have one from her. The desire to fulfill this wish for everyone was strong within me, but now Lucy misses her puppies just as much as her new owners.

Upon returning home after the break-in, Oquendo, a mother of two daughters aged 10 and 3, immediately sensed that something was amiss. It did not take long for her to realize that the puppies were missing from her home.

“When it first happened, panic set in. I felt like there was an intruder in my home and I didn’t know what was happening. To ensure my safety, I quickly grabbed my loyal companion, Lucy, and fled the apartment. I sought assistance from security as soon as possible and immediately dialed 911 to get the help I needed,” she recounted.

The mother, who has a deep affection for dogs, expressed her relief that she and her two children were not present during the robbery. She further added that she is hoping that the person responsible for taking her pets will have a change of heart and return them back to their rightful home.

Oquendo expressed her concern and hope for the safe return of those who have been taken, emphasizing that this is a serious crime. She also expressed her desire for those responsible to take care of them wherever they are.

At just four weeks old, the puppies are highly dependent on their mother for both nourishment and care.

Oquendo expressed his anguish by stating that the situation is overwhelming because the creatures in question are incredibly tiny. He further added that they have only recently opened their eyes and started to walk, making the scenario even more distressing.

The mother, who is deeply saddened, is still unsure about how to inform her youngest daughter, who has a strong emotional attachment to the dogs. At present, Oquendo is taking care of the situation, and both girls are residing with their relatives. Be vigilant, cautioned Oquendo, to other pet owners.

“Be mindful,” she cautioned. “Take all your belongings with you whenever you leave your car. This unfortunate incident can occur to anyone.”

Late on Monday, the NYPD released surveillance footage stills of the suspects who are still at large. The pictures showcase the individuals who are yet to be captured. They both had on white face masks, with one wearing a maroon hoodie and the other a black hoodie.
