Weekly Safety Report: North Bergen Affected by Drug Arrests and Fire Displacement

This week saw the occurrence of two incidents in North Bergen, New Jersey. Two males were apprehended in the initial incident subsequent to a police stop which unveiled loaded firearms, marijuana, and mushrooms within their vehicle. A fire destroyed the possessions of two families in the second incident, which also caused the residents to be displaced and the loss of a pet.

An officer detected the odor of marijuana emanating from a Mercedes-Benz bearing New York license plates during a routine traffic stop. Multiple sizable bags of marijuana were discovered in open view in the rear seat of the vehicle during the search. By consenting to a search, the motorist, who was a resident of North Bergen, caused the investigation to uncover loaded firearms and mushrooms. Subsequently, both the motorist and another individual were apprehended.
