NOPD: Upper Ninth Ward Woman Fatally Shot

A woman is hospitalized in New Orleans following the most recent gunshot. The gunshot occurred on Almonaster Avenue and Higgins Boulevard just before noon on Saturday, according to a NOPD spokesperson.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the woman with a gunshot wound, according to them. The victim was transported by an EMS squad to a hospital. The cause of her illness was not revealed.
