Nicole Scherzinger expresses gratitude to her Hawaiian family as she receives Olivier Award for ‘Sunset Boulevard’

Hawaii’s very own Nicole Scherzinger has just added another impressive achievement to her already impressive resume – Olivier Award winner.

Nicole Scherzinger took home the award for best actress in a musical on Sunday night, thanks to her outstanding performance in “Sunset Boulevard.”

The Olivier Awards is the British equivalent of the Tony Awards.

Playing the lead role in the West End revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical is the 45-year-old.

During her acceptance speech, Scherzinger expressed gratitude towards her family in Hawaii.

“As a young girl from Hawaii, I had big dreams of becoming a singer and performing in musicals. I always envisioned myself playing various roles, but strangely enough, playing the character of Norma Desmond was not one of them,” she reminisced.

The musical “Sunset Boulevard” received a total of seven awards, including the prestigious accolades for best director and best actor.

The highly anticipated musical production that has taken London by storm is set to make its grand debut on Broadway this fall.
