Netflix to stream two NFL Christmas games in 2024

Netflix has announced that they will be broadcasting two games on Christmas Day this season, as well as at least one game on the holiday for the next two years.

The Christmas Day games didn’t have any matchups revealed before the release of the full 2024 schedule on Wednesday night. However, this year, the four teams involved will be playing rare regular-season contests on Wednesday.

“We can’t find any other annual events, whether sports-related or not, that can rival the immense viewership that NFL football generates. That’s why we are thrilled to announce that the Christmas Day games of the NFL will exclusively be available on Netflix,” stated Bela Bajaria, the Chief Content Officer of Netflix.

Netflix will be airing an NFL game for the first time ever.

In the 2023 season, when December 25th landed on a Monday, three games were played on Christmas day.

“The NFL has embraced the tradition of playing on Christmas, and teaming up with Netflix, a platform that experiences its peak activity on this festive holiday, is an ideal collaboration to expand this event’s global reach for NFL fans,” stated Hans Schroeder, the NFL’s executive vice president of media distribution.

The NFL will officially reveal the complete 2024 schedule on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can tune in to a two-hour special on ESPN2, which will also be available for streaming on ESPN+.
