After two long years since a woman went missing, the authorities have finally arrested a suspect who was on Atlanta’s Most Wanted List for murder.
On July 30, 2022, Allahnia Lenoir was last spotted at the Peachtree Midtown Apartments situated at 1600 Peachtree Street. According to the police, Lenoir may have met her demise inside one of the units, and her body could have been discarded.
On Friday, Steven Oboite, the third suspect who had been on the run, was apprehended by the police near Allatoona Lake in Bartow County. Prior to this, two of the suspects had already been arrested.
According to Michael Seiden from Channel 2, Lenoir’s mother has stated that the recent arrest does not provide any closure for her. Instead, she is determined to seek justice for her son.
Jannette Jackson expressed her indescribable agony that she feels on a daily basis. She found it particularly hurtful that the person responsible for her pain was found having a good time on jet skis.
Around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oboite was spotted by two Georgia Department of Natural Resources game wardens while riding a jet ski in a no-wake zone.
According to authorities, Oboite was stopped by investigators who suspected him of being under the influence of alcohol and requested his identification. It was at this point that he fled on the jet ski, as per reports.
After being washed ashore, Oboite quickly darted into a nearby wooded area. However, law enforcement officials were eventually able to track him down and apprehend him.
The murder of Lenoir resulted in the incarceration of Oboite and Diante Reynolds since 2022. Both individuals are facing charges related to the crime. In addition, Nicholas Hendrickson is accused of aiding in the disposal of the victim’s body.
According to court records, Oboite was wanted for felony murder, concealing the death of another, and tampering with evidence related to the death of Lenoir.
Her body is still being searched for by investigators even after two years.
Jackson pleaded, “Please, if you know anything in your heart, help us find our baby.”
Oboite is currently detained in Bartow County jail, but will soon be transferred to Fulton County for extradition.
