Missouri woman detained for alleged drug distribution in Osage County

On Monday, authorities in Osage County arrested a woman from Missouri on suspicion of drug distribution charges.

According to Sheriff Chris Wells, 37-year-old Kyra Merriman from Kansas City was arrested for an alleged traffic violation. The Osage County K-9 unit stopped Merriman at US Highway 75 and 189th Road, approximately five miles north of Lyndon, where illegal narcotics were discovered in her possession.

Police arrested Merriman on suspicion of distributing methamphetamine, possessing unspecified depressants, hallucinogens, marijuana, and paraphernalia. Additionally, he was arrested on suspicion of aggravated child endangerment.

There are charges currently pending in a formal manner.
