Michigan store sees 5 women arrested with $13K worth of stolen Lululemon clothes

Five women were apprehended on Monday for allegedly stealing a substantial amount of clothing from a Lululemon store in Detroit. Detectives witnessed the suspects exiting the store with thousands of dollars worth of stolen merchandise.

The police have stated that they recently received a tip about a crime ring involved in retail thefts from Lululemon stores in Metro Detroit. The Michigan State Police Fraud Investigation Section and the Michigan Department of Attorney General investigators are actively looking into this matter.

On Monday, MSP detectives and AG special agents conducted surveillance at a Lululemon store on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. Several women entered the store during this time and were identified as suspects from the previous Lululemon thefts, according to the police.

According to the police, the suspects were observed exiting the store shortly after with a significant amount of clothing.

Police have arrested five female suspects in connection with a theft case and have successfully recovered approximately $13,000 worth of stolen clothing.

Authorities suspect that these individuals are the ones behind the retail fraud cases that have resulted in over $125,000 in losses for Lululemon.

“According to MSP First Lt. Mike Shaw, retail fraud may be perceived as a ‘lower level’ crime, but these large-scale retail thefts pose a threat to both the public and store employees. Not only that, they also contribute to increased prices for consumers at the register.”

The investigation is still ongoing.
