Michael Whatley Makes Official Announcement For RNC Chair

Mocobizscene – North Carolina GOP Chair, Michael Whatley, made an announcement on Monday, expressing his candidacy to lead the Republican National Committee.

In a letter obtained by POLITICO, Whatley emphasized his endorsement for the post from former President Donald Trump, who is currently the frontrunner for the GOP nomination. The letter was addressed to the RNC’s 168 members.

In a heartfelt message, Whatley expressed deep gratitude for receiving President Trump’s endorsement for the position. Recognizing the significance of this endorsement, Whatley aims to earn the trust and support of the voters in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Just hours after the current RNC Chair, Ronna McDaniel, revealed her plans to step down next month, there has been a swift announcement to appoint new leadership for the committee in preparation for the upcoming general election. President Trump is endorsing Whatley as the chair, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair, and his senior campaign adviser Chris LaCivita as the RNC’s chief operating officer.

Whatley is expected to easily win the majority support from the RNC’s members in order to become chair. This is not surprising considering the widespread backing Trump has among the members. The election will be held on March 8 in Houston.

In his letter, Whatley highlighted his vision for the committee, emphasizing the need for the RNC to prioritize activities such as registering new voters, encouraging voter turnout, and maximizing their advantage in crucial states nationwide.

He emphasized his commitment to a cause that is important to Trump, stating that the committee will tirelessly take action by filing assertive lawsuits whenever necessary. Additionally, they will focus on recruiting and providing training to a significant number of poll watchers and poll workers.

Whatley, who previously held the position of RNC’s general counsel, has gained the support of Trump due to his strong emphasis on “election integrity” matters, according to sources familiar with the former president’s thoughts. Whatley even had the opportunity to join Trump on stage during his South Carolina victory celebration on Saturday evening.
