Man from Mississippi passes away attempting to rescue his wife after she got hurt falling into the lake during a nighttime boat trip.

Late at night, a man from Mississippi tragically lost his life while attempting to rescue his wife during a boating accident.

According to a report by The Natchez Democrat newspaper, the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office officials have confirmed that a heartbreaking incident took place on Lake St. John in Louisiana, just before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

According to officials, a late-night boat ride on the lake turned into a tragedy for a 69-year-old man and his wife. The wife suffered injuries after falling off the boat, and her husband heroically jumped into the water to save her. Sadly, the husband ultimately drowned in the process.

The accident left the wife alive.

Officials have not disclosed the man’s identity yet, as they are waiting to inform the family first.

At 11:39 p.m. on Saturday, the CPSO officials reported that the call was received by the sheriff’s office. Currently, there is no suspicion of any foul play.

The boating accident is being addressed by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries.
