Man from Maynard Wins $100K Lottery Prize Just in Time Before Ticket Expires

A retired postal worker has successfully claimed his $100,000 prize in the state lottery just in the nick of time, with only a few days remaining before the ticket would have expired.

Michael Curtin, a resident of Maynard, was thrilled to claim his ticket on Friday, April 19. When asked about his plans for the winnings, he enthusiastically shared his intention to use the money to upgrade his car.

Curtin purchased his ticket from Honey Land, located at 220 Summer St. in Fitchburg. As a result of this sale, the store received a $1,000 bonus.

On May 2, 2023, he played the daily “Mass Cash” drawing and emerged as the lucky winner of the cash prize. It’s worth noting that lottery tickets hold their value for a year before they expire and become worthless.

The Massachusetts State Lottery is actively searching for the lucky individual who purchased a winning “Lucky For Life” ticket on May 17, 2023. This fortunate ticket holder stands to receive a substantial prize of $25,000 per year.

They purchased the winning ticket from J Convenience Store & Laundromat located at 229 North Main St. in Natick. The lucky numbers that secured their victory are 15-22-28-29-41, with the Lucky Ball being 6.

The winner must claim their winnings by May 17 or risk losing them.
