On Friday, the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona announced that a man from Tucson has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for transporting drugs across the border.
According to a release, in May 2019, Reynaldo Parra-Villagrana, 27, delivered 878.8 grams of pure methamphetamine to an undercover officer in the parking lot of a sporting goods store.
According to authorities, Parra-Villagrana was the representative of a drug supplier based in Mexico during the delivery of the drugs.
As part of a lengthy investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, a covert officer played a crucial role. The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force Tucson and a Tucson-based lawyer worked in collaboration with the DEA to prosecute the case.
After the verdict, the defendant was handed a five-year supervised release period.
