Man Arrested For Spraying Unknown Liquid At Victims And Shouts ‘Gas The Jews’ In Front Of DC Synagogue

Mocobizscene- According to authorities and a report, a 33-year-old man allegedly sprayed an unidentified liquid at two victims while yelling, “Gas the Jews,” in front of a synagogue in Washington, DC, on Sunday morning.

Authorities added that Brent Wood is suspected of spraying the two victims while yelling the antisemitic remark outside the Kesher Israel Congregation at approximately 9:30 a.m.

As he released the putrid-smelling material, he allegedly exclaimed, “Gas the Jews,” according to sources who spoke to NBC 4 Washington.

It is unknown whether the victims had any connection to the synagogue, and no injuries were reported.

Metro Police claimed that no dangerous materials were discovered once the suspect was taken into custody and his car was checked out as a precaution. After being placed under arrest, Toledo, Ohio, resident Wood was accused of simple assault and resisting arrest.

According to investigators, the event is being looked into as a potential hate or prejudice crime.

According to Metro Police, the classification of a crime may change at any time when more information becomes available. However, police pointed out that just because detectives later classify it as a hate crime, it does not automatically imply that prosecutors will charge it as such.

Due to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, there has been an increase in antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents nationwide at the time of the attack.
