Man Accused of Attacking Police in Times Square Alleges Safety Threats

Mocobizscene- Yorman Reveron, a Venezuelan migrant who has been accused of assaulting police officers in Times Square, made a surprising claim in court. Reveron stated that he is the one who fears for his safety due to receiving death threats on social media. During the court proceedings, his lawyer argued for his release without bail, emphasizing the genuine concerns regarding Reveron’s safety.

Judge Ruth Pickholtz, however, dismissed this plea and demanded that Reveron be held on $100,000 bail. She highlighted his history of criminal involvement and aggressive conduct.

Reveron allegedly assaulted police officers during a mob incident in Times Square. Although he had prior arrests for theft and assault, he was released without bail. Two other individuals involved in the incident, Kelvin Servita Arocha and Wilson Juarez, were also granted bail but are facing federal charges and potential deportation.

Yohenry Brito and Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, who were also involved in the assault on police officers, underwent bail hearings.

Brito, who is accused of instigating the incident, had a history of multiple cases of petit larceny and was re-incarcerated on bail set at $15,000. Similarly, Gomez-Izquiel was ordered to be held on $50,000 bail for his alleged involvement in the violent robbery at Macy’s.
