Longbeach, Iowa Welcomes Massive 18,000 Square Foot Supermarket

Aldi, the popular discount grocery store chain, recently opened its second location in Long Beach on December 1. The store can be found at 955 E. Anaheim Street and operates from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. To mark the opening day, the Central Long Beach store opened its doors at 8 a.m. and generously rewarded its first 100 shoppers with a gift card.

Aldi, a German-based grocery store chain, has successfully expanded its presence in the U.S. by opening over 1,000 new stores across the nation in the past decade. With its exclusive brand offerings and competitive pricing, Aldi has established itself as a market leader. Although Aldi may not be as widely recognized in California as in other areas, it still garnered a respectable turnout on its first day of operation.

A new 18,504 square-foot location has been constructed on the site where several buildings were destroyed by a massive fire in December 2022. The grocery store was initially intended to be a part of a larger renovation project for the shopping center before the unfortunate incident occurred. As part of the plan, other business facades in the strip mall were also scheduled for renovations, but unfortunately, they were later destroyed in the fire.

Aldi has recently opened its first store in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach. This expansion into Long Beach is not unexpected, considering Aldi’s rapid growth in recent years. In fact, Aldi has become the fastest growing supermarket in the United States.
