Local Residents Arrested in $5000 Retail Theft: LAPD Requests Public Assistance

Four persons are believed to have been apprehended by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in connection with a retail larceny. On December 6, 2023, the suspects, consisting of one woman and three men, allegedly stole footwear and apparel valued at more than $5,000 from a store in Northeast Los Angeles. They ultimately settled in the Watts neighborhood.

The Los Angeles Police Department was assisted in locating the perpetrators through the use of detailed descriptions of their vehicle compiled by store security and patrons. Additionally, a helicopter was dispatched by the Air Support Division to monitor the vehicle. Suspects were apprehended by Southeast Division officers at a residence in Watts while they were unloading the pilfered merchandise.

Travon Nelson, Traveon Dunn, Jeydy Salcedo, and Leon McCall, the four suspects, were apprehended without incident. The stolen merchandise was retrieved from the residence subsequent to the execution of a search warrant. Each suspect, who was a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested and detained without parole on charges of organized retail theft.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating potential connections between the perpetrators and other retail thefts in the city. Any pertinent information should be reported to the Los Angeles Police Department or the Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers.
