Intoxicated driver hits 6-year-old riding scooter in his own driveway, according to family

According to his family, a 6-year-old Georgia boy was hit by an intoxicated driver while riding his scooter.

Ross McCellen was struck by a vehicle in Tifton on April 26th while riding his scooter within the confines of his own driveway. He was immediately transported to an Atlanta hospital, where he is currently receiving care in the intensive care unit.

“We understand the challenges that his mother, Lauren, will be facing and recognize that no amount of money can alleviate her pain,” stated the organizers on GoFundMe. “However, we are aware of the financial difficulties this situation will impose on the family, and therefore, we humbly request donations. All funds will directly support the family during this crisis. We appreciate your prayers and generosity.”

The authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the driver who struck Ross. The charges that are being faced by the individual remain unclear.

The GoFundMe campaign has managed to raise over $3,000 to support the child’s medical expenses.
