An Oklahoma man who has been charged with murder is claiming that the killing was somehow connected to his attempt to summon “Bigfoot”.

According to a report by KXII, Sanders allegedly put Knighten in a chokehold during a fight, resulting in his death.

According to District Attorney Erik Johnson, in Oklahoma and most other states, first-degree murder cases require the element of malice aforethought, which means there must be a specific intent to cause someone’s death. He stated, “We were able to prove that Larry Sanders caused that death, and the issue of malice aforethought was what this case truly hinged upon.” (Source: KXII)

Sanders is scheduled to receive his sentence on June 18th. As reported by the news outlet, he could potentially face a lifetime in prison without the possibility of parole.
