Disneyland is increasing security measures at its multi-level parking garages in California in response to the third suicide that has occurred within the past year.
In response to the tragic incident involving a man who jumped from the Pixar structure last month, the Anaheim-based park has implemented enhanced security measures. These include increased patrols by car and bicycle, as well as stationing guards on the Pixar Pals and Mickey and Friends garages. The park is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its visitors.
There were other suicides at the garages in February and December 2022, and this tragedy followed suit.
According to a Disney spokesperson, the company has implemented extensive security measures in their parking structures over time to prevent such tragedies. While they did not provide specific details to maintain the effectiveness of these protocols, they emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of all visitors.
In February, Audacy reported that a tragic incident occurred where a woman jumped to her death from a garage.
Marney Schoenfeld, 46, from Scottsdale, Arizona, was later identified as the woman.
In the months leading up to her tragic demise, it was reported that Christopher Christensen, a respected principal and cellist hailing from Huntington Beach, California, also met a similarly unfortunate fate by choosing to end his own life.
