House fire claims the lives of 6 people in Georgia

Officials have reported that a devastating house fire in Georgia early Monday has claimed the lives of six people and left five others injured.

According to Richard Hawk, the Coweta County Coroner, the individuals who passed away were between the ages of 6 and 70 years old.

Coweta County Fire Rescue received a call at 5 a.m. about a house on fire in Coweta County, which is approximately 40 miles southwest of Atlanta. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that over 50% of the house was already consumed by the flames.

Fire rescue officials have reported that all 11 individuals who were inside the house have been safely evacuated.

Officials reported that six individuals lost their lives and five others were hospitalized, with some suffering from severe injuries.

Officials reported that a firefighter sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
